About Sri Dattatreya Sai Ashram

Sometime in the early part of 1984, a few dedicated Sai devotees were dreaming of an idea; to establish the SRI DATTATREYA SAI ASHRAM Complex in Orissa where great saints and devotees from different parts of India could offer prayer to Sri Dattatreya Sai and meditate in a serene atmosphere of absolute tranquility.

The same year, a devotee whom Baba gave Physical Darshan to, and commanded while in a running train at 4 in the morning to establish the Sai complex. It is due to the blessings of Sri Dattatreya Sai, blessings and guidance from Sri Ganeshnathji Maharaj and the devotion and sincerity of the many Sai Devotees whose dream became a reality.The temple was inagurated on Febuary 22, 2002.

Located in Dhenkanal, Orissa, the Dattatreya Sai Ashram is a huge complex with the Main Temple covering over 10,000 square feet. The total area of the Ashram is over Thirty Acres. On site, there is an Yagna Mandap, Prayer Hall filled with photos of great Spiritual leaders, Dhyana room, Akhanda Dhuni (Dwarakamai), Kalpabrikshya Tree and a Graha Mandala. A second complex has accomodations for devotees to stay in during their visit to the ashram with over 14 rooms completed and more in progress.

About the Founder

Mr. Dwarika Mohan Mishra is a gifted writer and speaker, a Journalist, the Author of two highly philosophical books and hundreds of articles. Recently, he was also honored by the State of Orissa's Prativa Puja Sansad and all the cultural organizations of the state. Currently, he is the Chairman of the Dattatreya Sai Ashram and its Trust, Chairman of Sri Bishnu Sahashra Nama Parayan Trust of Mukti Mandap, Shri Jagannath Temple and Vice Chairman of the All India Shirdi Development Committee.
